On this day

265-LD-in-Currumbene-Creek---a January the first - 1983 - The Lady Denman begins her final “tow” to her final resting place – behind a bulldozer up a channel towards what was to become the Lady Denman Maritime Museum.

January the second - 1998 - Declaration of Jervis Bay as one of two of the first marine Parks in NSW. The joint declaration was made by Minister for Fisheries Bob Martin and Environment Minister Pam Allan. Both Ministers were visiting the area for the occasion.
